Nick Kyrgios criticized Borna Coric for having a "zero intellectual level" after the Croat said he does not care about the Australian criticism of Novak Djokovic's unfortunate tennis exhibition Adria Tour. Fuel Kyrgios has been waging a battle on social media with anyone who has played in the tournament, calling the decision to keep it "loopy" while criticizing those who participated for their "stupidity."
Coric, one of four players who tested positive for coronavirus at the Balkans event last month, responded this week, suggesting that criticism from Kyrgios, who has a reputation for being a tough head on the court, was not credible.
"I read what he wrote, but I just don't care as he likes to be a 'general after a battle,'" Coric told the Jutarnji List newspaper.
"If someone else was teaching lessons, perhaps they would have understood, but Kyrgios ... is somehow not realistic."
Kyrgios replied on Twitter Wednesday night saying, "You should be concerned. Do you have rocks on your head?
"Once again, you can defend your teammates, I'm just trying to hold them accountable. When I said what I said, I didn't mean to bother. They are tennis players, they are not special."
