11 Afghan Sikhs Kidnapped From Gurdwara In June Reach Delhi

NEWS

Eleven members of the Sikh community in Afghanistan, who were granted short-term visas by the Indian Embassy, including Nidan Singh Sachdeva, abducted from a gurdwara in Paktia province last month, landed in New Delhi on Sunday morning. .
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently announced that India decided to facilitate the return of members of the Hindu and Afghan Sikh community facing security threats in Afghanistan to India.

The decision comes four months after an Islamic State-backed attack on a gurdwara at Kabul's Shor Bazaar killed at least 25 community members.

India has condemned the "attack and persecution" of members of minority communities by terrorists in Afghanistan at the behest of its external supporters remains a serious concern.
