A day after the Rajasthan High Court ordered the status quo of disqualification notices to 19 MLA of the rebel Congress, former Union Finance Minister and party leader P Chidambaram said a 1992 verdict from the Supreme Court declared that the judicial review should not cover any stage before a decision by the President / President.
He said that it is up to the people to judge the verdict themselves, since the decision of the five superior court judges was binding on all courts.

In 1992, the Supreme Court had ruled: 'Considering the constitutional scheme in the Tenth schedule, the judicial review should not cover any stage prior to the decision of the Presidents / Presidents, and quia timet actions are not allowed, "said Mr. Chidambaram.
"Those words are simple and clear enough. That statement by the 5-judge law was binding on all courts, the Supreme Court or the Supreme Court. Now, dear average citizen, you are the judge," he said in a series of tweets.
