"Love People Of India, China. Want To Do Everything To Keep Peace": Trump Latest

News

United States President Donald Trump has said he wants to do everything possible to maintain peace for the people of India and China, according to his spokesman.
In recent weeks, the Trump administration has supported India against China.

"He (Trump) said that I love the people of India and that I love the people of China and that I want to do everything possible to keep the peace for the people," White House press secretary Kayleigh said Thursday. McEnany, at a press conference.

She was answering a question about Trump's message to India, which recently had a clash with China in eastern Ladakh along the Current Line of Control.

Earlier in the day, White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow described India as a great ally, saying President Trump is a close friend of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On Wednesday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said India has been a great partner to the United States.

"India has been a great partner ... They are an important partner of ours. I have a great relationship with my chancellor's counterpart. We talk frequently on a wide range of issues. We talk about the conflict they had along the border with China. We have discussed the risk emanating from the Chinese telecommunications infrastructure there, "Pompeo told reporters in response to a question.

Traveling in Europe, the United States' national security adviser Robert O'Brien told reporters that China has been very aggressive towards India.

O'Brien said that India is a democracy and is a great friend of the United States. Prime Minister "Modi and President Trump have a super relationship," he said.

"In fact, it was the last trip abroad I made with the president before the COVID-19 crisis, he went to India, and we had a great reception from the Indian people there. We have a lot in common with them, we speak English, we are democracies. We have a growing and very strong relationship with India, "O'Brien said.

Welcoming the White House statement, Al Mason, co-chair of Trump Victory's American Indian Finance Committee, said that, unlike his predecessor, President Trump has openly spoken out in support of India.
