BJP veteran leader LK Advani recorded his statement today in the 1992 Babri Mosque demolition case before a CBI special court via video conference. The 92-year-old man, named among the defendants in the case related to the demolition of the Babri mosque in Ayodhya, appeared before the CBI special court in Lucknow via a video link.
On Wednesday, the Union's interior minister, Amit Shah, met with Advani. The two leaders spoke for about 30 minutes.
The court, through daily hearings, must complete the trial and issue its verdict by August 31.
The hearing of the Babri case took place a few days before a large groundbreaking event planned on August 5 for a Ram temple in Ayodhya. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other VIP hosts will attend the event. The construction of the temple will begin after a grand opening ceremony
