NEWS

A journalist was shot last night in Ghaziabad, near Delhi, and captured parts of the attack with chilling CCTV footage. Journalist Vikram Joshi was riding a motorcycle with his two daughters when a group of men assaulted him and opened fire on him. The journalist received a bullet wound to the head and is in critical condition at a private city hospital.

Five people, including the main defendant who the police said opened fire, have been arrested. They were all known to Mr. Joshi's family, police said.

A CCTV video of a road in the Vijay Nagar area of Ghaziabad, where the attack occurred, shows Mr. Joshi riding a bicycle with his two daughters.

It can be seen that the bicycle suddenly deviates and in a short time, a group of men surrounds it and begins to throw and hit the cyclist. The two children can be seen fleeing as the bicycle falls.

While the journalist's shot is unclear from the video, the attackers can be seen dragging him into a car and hitting him before fleeing the scene.

As Mr. Joshi lies on the road, the older daughter can be seen running towards him and crying, asking for help. The terrified girl sits on the road next to her father, trying to stop vehicles or people passing by. Then you can see a couple of people running towards the wounded man
