Six people died and 18 were injured after a bus hit a car on the Lucknow-Agra highway in Uttar Pradesh.
The injured were rescued with the help of locals and police when the bus overturned after the collision. The wounded were then transferred to a nearby hospital.
The bus, which was carrying migrant workers, was going to Delhi from Darbhanga from Bihar when the accident occurred around 5 am today, the ANI news agency reported.
"The private bus was coming from Darbangha and was on its way to Delhi when it collided with a car. Both vehicles got off the highway," said police official Amrendra Pratap Singh, quoted by ANI news agency.
"When the information was received, the police and other security people arrived at the scene. Five people died and 18 were injured when entering a hospital," Singh added.
