The government said on Wednesday it has allowed the export of four crore surgical masks and 20 lakh medical glasses each month, weeks after giving the go-ahead for the monthly export of 50 lakh units of PPE (personal protective equipment) medical coveralls.
Following the mantra of Prime Minister Modi of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, in a decision to promote Make in India and industrial growth, the government allows the export of 4 2/3-layer surgical masks and 20 lakh medical glasses each month, along with unrestricted export of face shields, "Union Minister Piyush Goyal confirmed on Wednesday.
