A 50-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sharing nude photos of his elderly mother with family members on WhatsApp, as he wanted to blackmail her into handing over documents of ownership of her ancestral home, police said Monday.
The defendant identified as Deepak Tiwari (50) was brought before the additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) on Sunday and sent to judicial custody.
The dispute over the house arose after the defendant's father passed away about 20 days ago, police said.
In her police report, the 75-year-old woman said on May 13 that she was performing a "hawan" ceremony for her husband at their home when their son arrived there and sprayed some substance on her.
She began to feel itchy and ran to the bathroom to bathe. Her son secretly clicked on the photos and sent them to family members on the messaging platform, police said.
