NEW DELHI: The Delhi government suspended an officer from the Civil Defense Directorate headquarters on Saturday after an announcement that it did not respect the territorial integrity of the Indian union sparked a controversy. The announcement was issued for the enrollment of volunteers for the civil defense corps, where one of the eligibility criteria was that the person must be "a citizen of India or subject to Sikkim or Bhutan or Nepal and a resident of Delhi".
