A day before domestic flights are to resume across the country, there is still confusion over rules and preparedness in the states. Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, home to some of the country's busiest airports in Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai, have marked the center's plan to restart passenger flights two months after a closure caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Maharashtra government said on Saturday that the state had not yet modified its closing order of May 19, which only allowed special flights, indicating that the state, with the highest number of COVID-19 cases, is not overly interested in accepting an influx of people.
