A Canadian Snowbirds plane, an elite aerobatics team, crashed in British Columbia on Sunday during a performance to salute public efforts against the coronavirus, the military said.
According to local media, the plane crashed in the front yard of a house shortly after taking off from Kamloops airport on Sunday morning along with another plane.

Provincial Health Minister Adrian Dix tweeted that a person had been taken to the hospital.

"The #RCAF was informed that a Canadian Forces Snowbirds plane crashed near Kamloops, BC," the Royal Canadian Air Force tweeted, without providing further details.

"Our priority right now is to determine the status of our personnel and to support emergency personnel," he added.

Witnesses said the pilot managed to eject the plane with a parachute before the accident. The pilot landed on the roof of a house and appeared to have sustained back and neck injuries.

Photos from the accident scene appeared to show remains burning in front of a house, part of which was also on fire..
