Use Your Voices To Drown Out Online Noise With Positivity: Meghan Markle

News

Meghan Markle, the British Duchess of Sussex, told nearly 40,000 teenage girls and young women around the world on Tuesday to drown the negative online chat sometimes "painfully loud" with positive.
Speaking by video to the United Nations Foundation Girl Up 2020 Leadership Summit, Meghan noted that the generation she was speaking to grew up with digital technology and knew the online media better than anyone.

"You understand that our online world has the power to affirm and support as much as it does to harm," said Meghan, the wife of Prince Harry's grandson, Queen Elizabeth.

"There will always be negative voices, and sometimes those voices can seem too big and sometimes they can seem very loud," she said.

"You can and will use your own voices to drown out the noise," he added.

"Because that is what it is, just noise. But their voices are of truth and hope. And their voices can and should be much stronger."

Meghan, Harry, and their young son Archie now live in Los Angeles, after giving up their royal duties in late March, in part due to intense media intrusion into their lives and critical comments directed at her.
