The United States has faced "unreliable" Chinese technology and has persuaded many countries not to use equipment produced by Huawei because of its high security risk, President Donald Trump said Tuesday.
"We are dealing with unreliable Chinese technology and telecom providers. We convinced many countries not to use Huawei because it is a huge security risk. Just today, the UK announced that they are not going to use it," Trump said in addressing journalists.
The United States designated Chinese telecommunications companies Huawei and ZTE Corp as national security threats, saying they have close ties to the Chinese Communist Party and China's military apparatus.
