The Rajasthan Police Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested Sanjay Jain on Friday whose name appeared in a viral audio recording of lawmakers' horse trade to overthrow the congressional government led by Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan, he said An official.
"Jain was arrested after being questioned in the FIR hosted on the basis of an audio recording that had gone viral on social media," said Additional Director General (ATS and SOG) Ashok Rathore.
Mr. Jain was questioned Thursday and Friday after which the arrest was made, authorities said.
The head of Congress, Whip Mahesh Joshi, had filed a complaint demanding an investigation and registration of an FIR on sedition charges against three people: Congress MLA Bhanwarlal Sharma, Gajendra Singh and Sanjay Jain, who were allegedly discussing a conspiracy to overthrow the state government in one of three audio recordings that went viral on social media on Thursday.
