Coronavirus: 11,929 coronavirus cases in India in 24 hours, 3.2 lakh total cases

India's coronavirus count rose to 3.20,922 cases today as it recorded the largest single-day jump of 11,929 new infections in the past 24 hours and 311 deaths, the Union Health Ministry said this morning. A total of 9,195 COVID-19 patients have died so far, according to the government. This is the second day in a row that India registers more than 11,000 new infections in one day. The country has jumped two positions since last week to become the fourth country most affected by the pandemic after the United States, Brazil and Russia. More than 70,000 new patients and more than 2,000 deaths have been registered in a week while Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat continue to be the most affected states.
