Coronavirus (COVID-19): A total of 660 new cases of COVID-19 were reported today, the highest peak in a single day, authorities said. The count of coronavirus deaths in Delhi has risen to 208. The total number of cases in the city is now 12,319. This is the first time in Delhi that more than 600 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in one day.
According to the Delhi Health Department bulletin, of the total of 12,319 cases registered so far, at least 1,835 are admitted to various hospitals such as LNJP Hospital, RML Hospital, Safdarjung Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital (RGSSH) and AIIMS Jhajjhar. He said 169 patients are in the intensive care unit and 27 on ventilators.
India has recorded the largest single-day jump of 6,088 new coronavirus cases, with total cases reaching 1.1.8447, including 3,583 deaths, figures from the Union Health Ministry show this morning. 148 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.
The Union Ministry of Health said Thursday that the lockdown period has been used for profit to "intensify the health infrastructure," with about 3,027 dedicated COVID-19 hospitals and 7,013 care centers prepared across the country for combat disease.
