COVID-19 Outbreak Confined To Limited Areas Due To Lockdown, Says Centre Latest

Coronavirus cases continued to see an increase in Kerala with 62 people, including 49 returnees from abroad and other states, testing positive on Saturday, while more than 91,000 are under observation.
With this addition, the COVID-19 count in the state has increased to 794, of which 275 are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals. Thirteen, including seven health workers, three from Palakkad, two from Kannur and Kozhikode, have been infected by contact.

While 18 of those infected came from various countries: the United Arab Emirates (9), Saudi Arabia (3), Kuwait (2), Muscat, Qatar, the Maldives and Singapore (one each), 31 have come from other states: Maharashtra (13), Tamil Nadu (12), Gujarat (2), Karnataka (2), Uttar Pradesh and Delhi (one each) have been admitted to various hospitals. On Friday, Kerala had reported 42 cases.

India recorded the largest single-day jump in the number of coronavirus cases with 6,654 new patients in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 1.25,101 cases, the Union Ministry of Health said today. The country has recorded 3,720 COVID-19 related deaths so far.

The government said Friday that the outbreak of the new coronavirus and deaths due to it have been limited to limited areas, most of which are urban, due to the implementation of the blockade.
